Swapping or Adding RAM
If you know how to swap out a retro video game cartridge or load a DVD player, then you can easily add more RAM to your computer. Most PCs and laptops allow for easy access to RAM. On a laptop, you usually only have to remove a few screws on the bottom of the chassis, remove the old stick, and slide the new RAM into place.
It’s important to note, that you can’t swap RAM on all computers. For example, Macbooks and Ultrabooks, solder their RAM to the motherboard.
Make sure you do your research before purchasing RAM. You need to make sure you select the right kind for your system.
Swapping a Laptop Keyboard
Keyboards wear out an accidents happen. Even the most careful PC user will eventually need to consider replacing their keyboard. Thankfully, swapping a keyboard is extremely easy. Removal of an old keyboard usually involves removing a few screws, sliding out the keyboard, and releasing the data cable connected to the motherboard. You then follow these steps in reverse to install the new keyboard.

Re-Installing Windows
Re-installing an operating system is much easier than most people believe. For example, if you’re running Windows 8.1 it has tools for re-installation built in.
Prior to re-installation, it’s important to make sure that all of your files are backed up on an external hard drive. Once your files are properly backed up, enter your system discs and begin the installation process. Keep in mind that you will also need to re-install software such as Microsoft Office and accounting programs.
