I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: NEVER click on links in text messages, even if they come from a business or person you know and trust. Check for misspellings, wrong names, or anything that feels off about a text or email message.  There are two things about the following text message that should alert you of a problem. First, the link does not have PayPal’s name in it anywhere. Second, the text message starts by saying your PayPal account has been suspended but the bottom of the text states that your account will be suspended if you do not act within two days. This text message is designed to scare you. The scammer wants you to click the link and enter your PayPal account information. Once they have this information, they have access to your funds and possible even your bank account, if you have one attached to your PayPal account. Instead of clicking any links in texts or emails, look-up the business online. Any alerts on your account will be listed when you log-in to your account on the official PayPal website.
